FAA Registration/FRIA Information

FAA registration is required. This is a 3-step registration. To fly at the field, you only need a Limited Recreational Operations registration. Which is $5 for 3 years. This registration is good for all your UAS no matter the number that you have.  As of 2015 the FAA considers anything that fly’s and weighs over .55lbs an UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and must be registered.

  1. Go here and create an account (if you do not have one) and follow the recreation sign-up steps. A credit card is required.
  2. Go here and take the T.R.U.S.T test. This is from the AMA there are other groups that give this test. Full list here.
  3. Label the outside of the UAS with your FAA number you received after registering.
